The following announcement was posted on the Anne Peaker website in
early 2010:

The Anne Peaker website has now been closed down and the
work of the Anne Peaker Centre was transferred in full to the
management of the Arts Alliance on April 1st, 2010. The funding for
the Anne Peaker Centre, to develop the role of the arts in the
criminal justice sector, was also transferred to the Arts Alliance
on April 1st, 2010.

Background
Anne Peaker and Jill Vincent established the Unit for the Arts and
Offenders in 1992 as part of the Centre for Research in Social
Policy at Loughborough University. The Unit for the Arts and
Offenders was established as a registered charity and limited
liability company incorporated on 21st October 1996. The
organisation re-branded to reflect its remit as a national umbrella
body, and was renamed Anne Peaker Centre for Arts in Criminal
Justice to honour its founder, who sadly died in 2000. Anne
Peaker's pioneering work continues to inspire us and she left a
legacy which forms the basis of the work of the Arts Alliance
today.
In memory of Anne Peaker the Arts Alliance will host the inaugural
Anne Peaker Debate opened by Geoffrey Peaker and chaired by Jude
Kelly OBE, Artistic Director of Southbank Centre this September as
part of the Arts Alliance National Conference.
